Governing Rulers
- Governing lines indicate the character and the placement/position is in accord with the demands of the times.
- The "Times" refer to the Situation being referenced or asked about. A line can be favorable or unfavorable to the Hexagram's Condition or Situation
- The "Position" (Placement) of the Lines can refer to a social pecking order or a position within a family or; the place one holds within any endeavor or field of action. One's position can be favorable or unfavorable depending upon the line's meaning within the Hexagram. It is your "position" within the situation.
| Constituting Rulers
- A Constituting Line indicates the Hexagram's characteristic meaning (can be good, bad or ugly, etc.)
- A Constituting Line indicates that its character and place do not accord with the demands of the times.
- Constituting Lines are "out of sync" with the demands of the times .... they are square pegs in round holes and thus, are at a disadvantage
- The Fifteen Hexagrams with Constituting Rulers:
