•       The Constituting Ruler:  The essence of the meaning of the Hexagram itself.  Indicates the times are NOT suitable (out of sync) to the character & place o the Hexagram
  
  
  
• • The Governing Ruler:  This is the best that  can be accomplished under this particular Hexagram.
  
  
  
• When the two are identical, then only the Governing Ruler meaning is used.

• Line Six:  "After The Action" - Wisdom ... end effect ... moving on.  Mission accomplished.  As high as you can go ...
  
  
• Line Five:  Authority - The Boss, making it, you reach your goal ... running a business, You're in charge

The 64  Individual Hexagrams - Keywords

1. Governing lines indicate the character and the placement/position is in accord with  the demands of the times.
   
   
2. The "Times" refer to the Situation being referenced or asked about.  A line can be favorable or unfavorable to the Hexagram's Condition or Situation
   
   
3. The "Position" (Placement) of the Lines can refer to a social pecking order or a position within a family or;   the place one holds within any endeavor or field of action.  One's position can be favorable or unfavorable depending upon the line's meaning within the Hexagram.  It is your "position" within the situation.
   

1. A Constituting Line indicates the Hexagram's characteristic meaning (can be good, bad or ugly, etc.)
   
   
2. A Constituting Line indicates that its  character and place do not accord with the demands of the times.
   
   
3. Constituting Lines are "out of sync" with the demands of the times .... they are square pegs in round holes and thus, are at a disadvantage
   
   
4. The Fifteen  Hexagrams with Constituting Rulers:

1. When the Constituting Ruler is also the Governing Ruler... then the Character & Place  are in accord or appropriate  to the  demands of the times.
   
   
2. When the Constituting Ruler  is NOT the Governing Ruler;  then the  Character & Place  is one that is not in accord  with the demands of the times.
   
   
3. When the Constituting Ruler and the Governing ruler are Identical, the Hexagram has one ruler ... i.e. "both are the same"
   
   
4. There can be up to "2" Constituting Rulers and/or "2" Governing Rulers for each Hexagram
