Data is as Follows:
Date: 31 May 2008 Time: 12:20 PM Longitude: 105º W 20' 34" Latitude: 43º N 56' 30"
Three people injured, 2 critically.
The Crane was moving a 260 foot, 500,000 pound section of tubing over a triple-track railroad line when it "just collapsed" leaving a 70 foot section of the tubing blocking the train tracks as well as a connection off the main line that services both the Black Thunder Coal Mine and the Jacob Ranch Mine.
The tubing was intending to enclose a large conveyor over the railroad which would reach over Hilight Road to the top of the new coal silos for Black Thunder Mine.
The new construction site is located 7 miles from the Black Thunder Coal Mine's headquarters whose coordinates are given above.
The coordinates for Hilight Road near the Mine and near Wright, Wyoming are:
105º W 21' 55" / 43º N 50' 17"
One of the injured was taken to Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming; two others were taken to Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette.
The accident occurred nearer to Wright, Wyoming.
